Lucy Grant
Co-owner · reviews every fragrance page on Sentia
Who Lucy is
Lucy co-owns Sentia and is the reason its fragrance pages can be trusted. She keeps her own collection and has spent far longer than the rest of us with the bottles themselves — which is the only qualification that actually matters when the question is what something smells like.
Away from fragrance she follows markets and invests — a hobby she claims is entirely unrelated to funding the collection, and which nobody here believes.
What Lucy reviews
Every fragrance page before it is published. Specifically:
- — the notes, checked against the maker’s own listing and against the bottle
- — the house and concentration, which are wrong more often than you would expect
- — whether the description actually describes the smell, or just sounds like it does
How a page gets reviewed
Pages are drafted from the fragrance house’s own published listing — never from another database. Lucy then reads the draft against what she knows and what she owns. Anything she cannot confirm is cut rather than softened. A page that says less and is right is worth more than a page that reads well and is wrong.
