What it searches

1,623 note lists, and where they came from

Every list in the finder was copied from a product page published by the house that makes the fragrance, between 23 August 2026 and 4 October 2026. None comes from a review, a shop or a fan database. 1,305 of them are full pyramids with top, heart and base; the other 318 give one flat list or fewer tiers, and appear here the way the house prints them.

How it matches

Whole words, and every note you picked

A fragrance matches a note when one of its listed notes contains that word. Vetiver finds “Haitian Vetiver”; rose finds “Bulgarian Rose” but not “Rosewood”. Plurals count, so musk also finds “White Musks”. Pick two notes and a fragrance must list both.

A few words stand for a small group, because houses use them for the same material: oud also finds aoud and agarwood; cedar also finds cedarwood; iris also finds orris; incense also finds frankincense and olibanum. Nothing else is treated as a synonym, so a search for jasmine will not return a fragrance that only says “white flowers”.

The numbers beside each note are fragrances, not mentions. Musk is the most listed, in 622 of the 1,623.

A note list is a description, not a recipe

Houses choose the words on a note list, and they choose them to describe a smell. A note can stand for a natural oil, a single lab-made molecule or a blend, which houses often call an accord: 247 of these lists use that word. Musk is the clearest case: houses say musk and rarely say which.

So read a result as “this house says its fragrance smells of these things”. Two fragrances that share three notes can still smell quite different on skin.

Found one? Keep track of it

A search like this usually ends with a short list of bottles to try. Sentia is where that list can live: add the ones you want to sample to your wishlist, move them to your shelf if you buy them, and note each wear.

After a few weeks you can see which of them you kept reaching for.

Questions

Still wondering

Is there a website where I can see perfume notes?
Yes. This page searches 1,623 note lists, each copied from the fragrance house's own product page, and the Sentia app shows the same list when you look a bottle up. Large community databases such as Fragrantica and Parfumo cover many more fragrances than we do.
How can I identify the notes in a perfume?
Start with what the house publishes: many houses print a list of notes, often split into top, heart and base. Search a note here to see which fragrances name it. A note list describes the smell the house wants you to expect; it is not the formula.
Why is a fragrance I know missing?
The finder only holds fragrances whose house publishes a note list that we have read ourselves, from 45 houses so far. Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, Guerlain, Hermès are not in it yet. Houses that publish no notes cannot be added at all.
