What notes are in Creed Aventus?
Creed lists nine notes for Aventus: Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian lemon and blackcurrant leaf on top; pineapple, pink pepper and jasmine at the heart; birch, patchouli and musk at the base.

Why this list is shorter than the one you have seen
Search for Aventus notes and you will usually find a longer pyramid — apple, rose, oakmoss, ambergris, sometimes vanilla. Those lists are community-compiled and have been added to for over fifteen years. Creed’s own page lists nine notes, and that is what appears above.
Neither list is a lie. A house publishes the notes it wants to name; noses detect things a marketing page never mentions. But when the two disagree, this page follows the house, because that is the only version anyone can check.
Notes are not the ingredients list
Directly below the notes, Creed prints something that looks similar and is not: alcohol, parfum, limonene, water, linalool, citral, citronellol. That is the INCI declaration — a legal listing of solvents and named allergens, required on cosmetics sold in the EU and UK.
It tells you nothing about how a fragrance smells. Limonene is a citrus-derived compound that appears in a very large share of all perfume; it is on the label because a small number of people react to it, not because Aventus smells of it.
Do you actually wear it?
Knowing the notes is the easy part. The harder question is whether a bottle you paid for is one you reach for — and most people are wrong about their own answer.

- Is blackcurrant the same as the apple note people describe in Aventus?
- No. Creed lists a blackcurrant leaf accord, not apple. The fruitiness most people notice is the pineapple accord in the heart, which Creed calls a signature of the fragrance.
- What is the difference between Aventus notes and its ingredients list?
- Notes describe what a fragrance smells of. The ingredients list is a legal declaration of allergens and solvents — for Aventus, Creed declares alcohol, parfum, limonene, water, linalool, citral and citronellol. They are not the same thing.
